CAVE 0100: Youth Class – Ages 4 through 15: Youth Class offers an authentic Brazilian style warm-up that is fun yet challenging for all ages plus games, technical drills, and sparring at each session. This program is comprised of age-appropriate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques. The best value offered at our academy, this program produces warrior athletes with the confidence to navigate all life’s challenges. We will instill discipline, courtesy, and respect in your child and guarantee you rapid results. Sparring is expected at each session except their first trial class where they will have the option to spar or not; thereafter sparring becomes incumbent upon the practitioner at every session, and this is how we can guarantee you rapid results. Uniform is Gi with occasional No-Gi and striking gear.

CAVE 0101: Takedowns – Ages 6 and up: There is no better way to bring the fight to the ground than with a properly executed takedown technique. Coach Joshua has spent decades refining his takedown arsenal and is pleased to provide instruction in this art and science. Each session begins with a rigorous warm-up that will challenge even the most elite athletes. This is a high-impact, high-intensity workout not suited for everyone yet extremely fun and deadly effective for those with the wherewithal to persist in their training. Sparring is expected at each session. Uniform is No-Gi.

CAVE 0102: No-Gi Grappling – Ages 6 and up: No-Gi Grappling is a gateway course into the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and the art and science of Vale Tudo (Portuguese for “Anything Goes”). Each session begins with a rigorous warm-up that will challenge even the most elite athletes. This is a high-impact, high-intensity workout not suited for everyone yet extremely fun and effective for those with the wherewithal to persist in their training. Sparring is expected at each session. Uniform is No-Gi.

CAVE 0200: Judo – Ages 8 and up: Kodokan Judo is the source of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and retains many valuable techniques that we like to practice weekly. This is a high-impact, high-intensity workout not suited for everyone yet extremely fun and deadly effective for those with the wherewithal to persist in their training. Ukemi, Nage-Waza, & Katame-Waza are the focus of this course. Sparring is expected at each session. Uniform is always Gi.

CAVE 0300: Striking – Ages 8 and up: The art and science of pugilism is a serious undertaking requiring years of dedication and technical refinement. Each session begins with a rigorous warm-up that will challenge even the most elite athletes. This is a high-impact, high-intensity workout not suited for everyone yet can be extremely fun and effective for the dedicated who are willing and able to commit to this program of study and practice. Sparring is expected at each session, and additional protective gear will be required. Uniform is No-Gi.

CAVE 0400: Self-Defense – Ages 10 and up: This comprehensive program addresses virtually all the essential elements of a modern-day street assault and equips the practitioner with the tools to defend themselves safely against the lay-attacker/mugger. This is the perfect choice for a senior citizen or other self-defense enthusiast with physical limitations. This course encapsulates and fully covers the Women’s Self-Defense course material and much, much more. Striking & Striking Defense, Weapons Defense, and Ambush Defense are covered in detail. Quality drilling is the focus of this course. Uniform is Gi.

CAVE 0401: Women’s Self-Defense – Age of maturity and up for females only: Because we know what the typical attacker is after, the number of threat scenarios is relatively small, and based upon law enforcement reports and survivor testimony, we know exactly what to train for making this condensed course highly effective for kidnapping and sexual assault prevention. Although young yet mature females welcome to participate in this course, it should be understood that the topics of this class are of a rather mature nature. Quality drilling and brief lecture topics are the focus of this course. Uniform is No-Gi. (Not currently offered.)

CAVE 0500: Jiu-Jitsu Essentials – Ages ~14 and up: The very best of Jiu-Jitsu in a streamlined curriculum format, this program will jump start a beginner with the most effective techniques on the street, yet even a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt will benefit from this course of instruction. Although sparring is allowed (but not mandatory) after the lesson plan has been successfully executed, quality drilling is the focus of this course. Uniform is Gi Pants and T-Shirt with Belt.

CAVE 0600: Combative Jiu-Jitsu (Adults) – Ages ~16 and up: For further advancement in the complete system of Combative Jiu-Jitsu, the complete curriculum is offered to those students who have reached a level of competency in Jiu-Jitsu Essentials. Due to the relatively small student to teacher ratio we currently benefit from, this class is still open to all. Sparring is expected at each session. Uniform is Gi & No-Gi plus Striking Gear.

CAVE 0603: Combat Guard Submission System – Ages 12 and up: For further advancement in the complete system of Combat Jiu-Jitsu, this advanced curriculum is offered to those students who wish to explore and refine the finest jewel of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the Combat Guard. Misunderstood and not offered broadly at most “Jiu-Jitsu” academies, this skillset transforms a mediocre fighter into a dangerous obstacle for any would-be attacker. Sparring is expected at each session. Uniform is Gi & No-Gi plus Striking Gear.

CAVE 0900: Vale Tudo – By invitation only: For the most serious and dedicated practitioners, this program should be your goal. Vale Tudo, Portuguese for “Anything Goes,” is not yet offered on the schedule because Coach Joshua feels that a proper foundation must be laid before a house can be built, and this is the most advanced of combat knowledge and therefore the most closely guarded. If you aspire to be part of this elite program, then you will demonstrate that fact by being present and focused at training. Your hard work and dedication will be the necessary requirement for admission. This is not sportive training; this is hand-to-hand combat. Uniform rotates with curriculum.
